After a local lunch, take a boat ride through the Klongs (canals) with a visit to Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn). Overnight in Bangkok. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Day 3:  Bangkok
After breakfast, meet your guide and drive to Ayutthaya, the ancient capital of Thailand, 1.5 hours from Bangkok. Tour the Bang Pa In (Summer Palace) and the ruins of this ancient city. Return to your boat and have lunch on board as you cruise back to Bangkok, a wonderful way to see the rural life along the river. Overnight in Bangkok. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Day 4:  Bangkok to Siem Reap
In the morning, you will be transferred to the Bangkok airport for your flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, you will be met and brought to your hotel. In the afternoon set out with your guide to visit Angkor Thom, a fortified Royal City (10 square kilometers). See the Terrace of the Leper King, Terrace of Elephants, Baphoun and the enchanted Bayon. Journey to the mountain temple of Phnom Bakheng for the sunset over the hilltop temple ruins. This temple is the signature spot for sunset, so it gets very crowded. Please advise your guide if you want to experience the sunset at a quieter location. Overnight in Siem Reap. (Breakfast)

Day 5:  Siem Reap
Rise early and journey out to the mother of all temples, Angkor Wat. Enjoy a picnic breakfast at Angkor Wat, and as the crowds return to their hotel for breakfast, you will venture into Angkor Wat to enjoy its magnificence in peace and quiet. See the intricate bass reliefs that tell tales from Hindu mythology. In the afternoon, travel through the traditional village of Preah Dak to the 12th century Banteay Samre. Continue further north to Banteay Srei, Angkor’s ultimate art gallery. This petite pink temple is the jewel in the crown of Angkor-era sculpture with its elaborate and intricately detailed carvings. Finish with a sunset over the rice fields from the royal crematorium of Pre Rup. Overnight in Siem Reap. (Breakfast)

Day 6:  Siem Reap
Travel back in time to one of the earliest capitals in the Angkor area, Hariharilaya, now know as Rolous. Begin with a visit to the brick temple Lolei in the center of the Indratataka baray. Continue to Preah Ko, and Bakong, with the option to visit the small country town of Rolous. After lunch, travel to the mighty temple of Preah Khan or “Sacred Sword,” built in the late 12th century. Continue to the elegant Neak Poan before ending your tour with Ta Som at the eastern end of the Northern Baray. Overnight in Siem Reap (Breakfast)

Day 7:  Siem Reap to Bangkok for Departure
In the morning transfer to the Siem Reap airport for your flight to Bangkok where you'll connect to your return flight home. Arrive the same day you leave due to the time differences. (Breakfast)
