Itinerary

Day 1:  Arrive Phnom Penh
Upon arrival at the Phnom Penh International Airport, you will be welcomed and taken to your hotel for check in. Overnight in Phnom Penh.

Day 2:  Phnom Penh
Begin your tour of Phnom Penh with a visit to the vast Royal Palace, the glittering Silver Pagoda, and the popular Russian and Central markets. After lunch continue on to visit Wat Phnom, the symbol of the city, and the impressive National Museum. In the late afternoon enjoy a sunset cruise on the Mekong River. Overnight in Phnom Penh. (Breakfast)

Day 3:  Phnom Penh to Siem Reap
In the morning, visit the genocide museum of Tuol Sleng and the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek. After lunch, transfer to the airport for your flight to Siem Reap. Visit the Western Baray and Artisans D’Angkor. Overnight in Siem Reap. (Breakfast)

Day 4:  Siem Reap
Rise early to view Ta Prohm in the dawn light. This temple has been abandoned to the elements and is known as the “jungle temple” for the tentacle-like roots slowly strangling the surviving stones. Continue to the giant pyramid of Takeo, one of the highest temples in the Angkor area. Visit the royal bathing pond of Sra Srang, once for the exclusive use of the king and his concubines. Walk to the first great Buddhist monastery in Cambodia, Banteay Kdei, built in 1186. Return to Siem Reap via the temple of Kravanh, built entirely from brick and dating from 921. After lunch travel to the mighty temple of Preah Khan, or “Sacred Sword.” Continue to the elegent curves of Neak Poan before experiencing the classic sunset over Angkor Wat from the summit of Phnom Bakheng. Overnight in Siem Reap (Breakfast)

Day 5:  Siem Reap
Today, travel north to Kbal Spean, the original “River of a Thousand Lingas.” A trip to Kbal Spean is one of the easiest ways to experience a short jungle trek in the Angkor area, as it is a steady but scenic climb to reach the river carvings. Afterward head south to Banteay Srei, a petite pink temple with elaborate and intricate carvings. Later visit the 12th century temple of Banteay Samre. Overnight in Siem Reap (Breakfast)

Day 6:  Siem Reap
Take an early trip to Angkor Wat to watch the sunrise and enjoy a picnic breakfast at the temples - a great way to beat the crowds and heat of the day. As the crowds return to their hotels, venture into Angkor Wat to enjoy its magnificence in peace and quiet. In the afternoon visit the highlights of Angkor Thom, including the enigmatic faces of the Bayon, Baphuon, the Terrace of the Elephants, and the Terrace of the Leper King. If time permit, also visit Les Artisans D’Angkor, a workshop to redevelop traditional Cambodian artisan skills and the Western Baray. Overnight in Siem Reap. (Breakfast)

Day 7:  Departure
Transfer to the airport for your departure flight. (Breakfast)
