Nepal, which has been a kingdom for centuries, is no longer a kingdom; the Buddhist kingdom of Bhutan is becoming a democracy in 2008; and Tibet is struggling to adjust to being a part of China. Walk through palace squares and temples in Kathmandu; join Tibetan pilgrims in their kora around Jokhang monastery in Lhasa; hike to the Tiger's Nest in Paro and stroll the bazaars in Thimpu. On this 14-day tour you will see some of the most amazing mountain scenery in the world from your flights between the cities of Kathmandu, Lhasa, and Paro.
You have the option of beginning and ending the trip either in Bangkok or in Delhi. All hotels, transfers, private guides and vehicles will be arranged from Bangkok to Bangkok or Delhi to Delhi and are include in the price.

Day 1, Tuesday: Arrive Bangkok
Arrive in Bangkok. Overnight Hotel. (No meals)
Day 2, Wednesday: Bangkok - Kathmandu (4,400 ft.)
Fly Bangkok to Kathmandu. Met by our Nepal representative and transferred to your hotel. Overnight hotel in Kathmandu. (Dinner)
Day 3, Thursday: Kathmandu (4,400 ft.)
Your tour guide will meet you at your hotel in the morning to take you on a private tour of Kathmandu. You'll visit the Bodhnath temple, the largest Buddhist stupa in Nepal, and one of the several monasteries neighboring the stupa. After this Buddhist experience, you will visit Pashupatinath, the holiest of temples for the Hindus. Here you will probably witness a Hindu cremation along the banks of the Bagmati river. Then head to the Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Overnight hotel in Kathmandu. (Breakfast and Lunch)
Day 4, Friday: Kathmandu (4,400 ft.)
After breakfast, visit Swayambhunath, the monkey temple, and the Patan Durbar Square. Overnight hotel in Kathmandu. (Breakfast and Lunch)
Day 5, Saturday: Kathmandu - Lhasa ( 11,800 ft.)
Fly Kathmandu - Gongar Airport. Met by our Tibetan representative at the Gongar airport. Drive to Lhasa. Day free. Overnight hotel in Lhasa (All meals)
Day 6, Sunday: Lhasa (11,800 ft.)
In the morning, visit Drepung Monastery. After lunch, visit Sera Monastery and witness monks debate. Be part of the evening prayer ceremony at Jokhang temple and merge with pilgrims making the circuit of Barkhor Square. Overnight hotel in Lhasa. (All meals)
Day 7, Monday: Lhasa (11,800 ft.)
Visit the Potala Palace in the morning. Later visit the Norbulinkha palace - the summer palace of the Dalai Lama. Evening free. Overnight hotel in Lhasa. (All meals)
Day 8, Tuesday: Lhasa - Kathmandu (4,400 ft.)
Fly Gongar - Kathmandu. Day Free. Overnight hotel in Kathmandu (Breakfast and Dinner)
Day 9, Wednesday: Kathmandu - Paro (7,300 ft.)
Fly Kathmandu - Paro. Met by our Bhutanese representative. Visit Drukgyal Dzong built in 1647 by the Great Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, father and unifier of medieval Bhutan. Evening free to stroll the streets of Paro. Overnight Olathang resort or similar. (All meals)
Day 10, Thursday: Paro - Thimpu - Punakha (4,300 ft.)
Drive to Thimpu. Visit the school of Traditional Medicine school and Painting School. After lunch stroll the Thimpu market. Continue drive to Punakha. Overnight hotel in Punakha. (All meals)
Day 11, Friday: Punakha - Paro (7,300 ft.)
Visit Punakha Dzong. Drive back to Paro (5 hours). Visit Chimmi Lakhang (temple of fertility) enroute. Overnight hotel in Paro. (All meals)
Day 12, Saturday: Paro (7,780 ft.)
After breakfast, hike to Tiger's Nest. In the evening, visit Ta Dzong. Overnight hotel in Paro. (All meals)
Day 13, Sunday: Paro - Bangkok
Fly Paro to Bangkok. Overnight hotel in Bangkok. (All meals)
Day 14, Monday: Bangkok - Depart for home
Transfer to airport for final departure. (Breakfast)
